Sorry guys, Jay Z is NOT coming to Nigeria this October

Contrary to reports that rapper Jay Z will be making his way to Nigeria for an October 2013 tour, ER can authoritatively tell you that the rapper is not performing in Nigeria anytime soon.

A 2006 Billboard article was misinterpreted by several Nigerian news outlets, including the popular media company Sound City which blasted the news via their weekly newsletter.

Apparently, it was reported Jay Z would be performing in Lagos, Nigeria as part of his upcoming ‘Water Project‘ tour. The tour actually took place in 2006, with Jay Z meeting with the then Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki and then performing at the Polo Grounds in Lagos.

Sound City has updated their initial post on their website, explaining they misinterpreted the old news from Billboard.

Jay Z is touring this Summer after his successful ‘Watch the Throne‘ tour with Kanye West in 2012.
