Balotelli, fans make fun of Suarez biting scandal with his poster

Lol. This is so not nice. A lot of people, including Italian footballer Mario Balotelli, are having fun at the expense of Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez, who was sent home from the World Cup for biting Italian defender Chiellini during a match.

A poster of Suarez with his mouth open was placed at Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro and you can't imagine what people were doing. See the photos after the cut...

#Brazil2014: Joseph Yobo, Stephen Keshi Quit Nigeria; Enyeama May Follow

Following Nigeria’s exit at the 2014 FIFA World Cup after a 2-0 loss to France, Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has called time on his international career.
The 33-year-old became the first Nigerian to play 100 international matches but his day ended on a sour note with an own goal in added time against Les Bleus.
“It was a bittersweet moment for me but I think it is time to focus on my family,” Yobo told reporters. “It has been a long road.”
Yobo made his debut with the Super Eagles in 2001 but became a mainstay of the team during the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
Coach Stephen Keshi has also resigned from his position as the team’s head coach.
“I have to go back to my family and face fresh challenges,” Keshi said to reporters.
It is rumored Keshi is going to take up the coaching job of the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama could also be on his way out, as he told reporter Colin Udoh,  “this could be my last game.”

#Brazil2014: Greece Players Turn Down Bonuses

#Brazil2014: Greece Players Turn Down Bonuses

The Greece national team players have rejected their playing bonuses and have asked that it be used to build a new team training centre.
The squad detailed their request in a signed letter to the Greek Prime Minister, Antonis Samaras, on Sunday after qualifying for the last 16 of the tournament in Brazil for the first time in their history.
‘We do not want extra bonus, or money. We only play for Greece and its people,’ Greek media reported the players as writing.
‘All we want is for you to support our effort to find a land and create a sports center that will house our National team.’
The team’s commendable request comes after Cameroon and Ghana were embroiled in rows over their World Cup bonuses recently – with the Ghana FA having to send $3m (£1.8million) to Brazil to resolve the issue.
Greece will be hoping to make it to the quarter-finals of the World Cup when they play Costa Rica in the last 16 in Recife

vincent_enyeama

Vincent Enyeama has been ranked as Africa’s best player at the ongoing  2014 World Cup in Brazil with 9.59 points in the latest Castrol Index Top 10 rankings released by the World football governing body, FIFA.
The superb goalkeeper’s last minute save to deny Edin Dzeko a sure goal as Nigeria beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 in a Group F game on Sunday is probably his finest moment so far in Brazil.
According to SuperSport, The 31-year-old is currently ranked as the best of all shot-stoppers currently in Brazil by FIFA.
Only Karim Benzema (9.77), Robin Van Persie (9.72), Arjen Robben (9.67) and David Luiz (9.63) have amassed more ranking points than the Nigerian shot-stopper.

#Brazil2014: Cameroon Squad Mobbed In Yaounde After Poor World Cup Performance [PHOTOS/VIDEO]

Cameroonian football fans have been less than enamored with the team’s poor showing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Indomitable Lions had a disastrous tournament, finishing with 0 points, 9 goals against them and only one goal scored. This was not to their fans’ liking, especially since the players had initially refused to go to Brazil because they weren’t satisfied with the amount of prize money on offer.
11 members of the team returned to Cameroon after the exit, but have been mobbed by irate fans since their return.
OPR midfielder Stephane Mbia was among the players who returned, and was mobbed and almost robbed by fans who refused to let his car pass through, and needed police intervention to get to safety.

Luiz Suarez facing 2-year ban as pictures emerge of him trying to bite same player a year ago

Pictures have emerged of Uruguayan and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez trying to bite Italian striker Giorgio Chiellini (left) 12 months before biting him again at their match last night in Brazil. The first incident happened during a Confederations Cup clash between Italy and Uruguay in 2013.

"Any type of proof may be produced, including reports from referees, declarations from the parties and witnesses, material evidence, audio or video recordings’. the committee said.

A decision on whether he is guilty of biting or not will be published before Saturday when Uruguay will play Colombia.

Peter Odemwingie dedicated the goal he brilliantly scored in the Nigeria-Bosnia match to his newborn son and that of the guy beside him. Who is he? Not very familiar with our current Super Eagles players. I know their names, just not what some of them look like. And that watch though! :-)

Spain Eliminated From World Cup After 2-0 Loss To Chile

Spain Eliminated From World Cup After 2-0 Loss To Chile

That's the ball game ladies and gentleman.
Spain have made history this evening. Not in the good way as they become the first defending champions to lose their first two games.
Humbled by Netherlands and now dismantled by Chile.
Chile were sensational tonight, from the start they pressed Spain and managed to take their chances.
On the other hand Darren, Spain were woeful. Who was worse Costa or Casillas? Hard to make that call.

Viva le Chile.
