The BEAT FM gets verified on Twitter

Nigerian urban radio station The BEAT FM 99.9 has been verified on Twitter.
The station received the blue verification badge on June 6, 2013 making it the first African radio station to be verified on the popular social network.

The official Twitter handle @thebeat999fm boasts of an impressive 160,000+ followers. Their official Facebook Page also enjoys a followership of over 480,000 fans.
This is a massive achievement and its right in line with our philosophy of being a trendsetter in the industry, for us to be verified by Twitter which is a global organization based outside of Africa. It’s certainly a significant milestone and recognition of the value we bring to our community’, Deji Awokoya GM of of Megalectrics (operators of the Beat99.9fm, Classicfm 97.3 and Naija fm 102.7), says.
The stylish radio station recently opened up shop in Ibadan, Oyo State.
