VC of Redeemer's University reacts Inappropriately to Newspaper Publication:
The Vice Chancellor of Redeemer's University (RUN) on Tuesday, 6th of May reacted inappropriately to the story in which an alleged gay student stabbed his partner to death.
The VC came in during the Morning devotion organised for the students from 7am - 7.30am and ridiculed the Mass Communication department of the University rather then properly address the poor public relations arm of his management.
Its is rather infuriating that the VC of a University can come in to slander and insult the students of the University like the external blows are not bad enough!
He said "I do not know if there is a Mass Communication department in the University,it appears that they are dead" he even asked that other students tell them to wake up and now that is purely embarrasing to every student of the department
It is sad that not only does the VC have a problem with saying the right things but worse that he can transfer the defects of his management upon the students!
How does it become the job of students to tackle publications of external media houses? The in-house publications are barely supported by the university and now they want support from the students?
Even if the VC feels the department can be of help to the University, does he request it by ridiculing and rubbishing the Department?
Other Universities properly understand the effects of positive publicity to their image but this VC has repeatedly proven his inadequacies concerning this!
This is a University that does not even have a visible sign post! It is very saddening that even the one erected right outside the Premises has faded beyond serving its publicity function
The VC should please find himself more benefitting occassions to attend and most importantly, find a way to sort out the lapses in the Publicity and Advertising arm of his management.
I mean, where do you hear that a Vice Chancellor can afford the time to be present at a Morning Devotion? Does he not have other more pressing or prestigious issues to attend to rather than constitute a pain to both the students and staffs of the University
