MISS NIGERIA FINAL AUDITION 2013

The Miss Nigeria casting team has been touring around cities across the country in search of the next queen.

Created in 1957 Miss Nigeria beauty pageant has discovered and made beauty queens such as Grace Oyelude, Julie Coker, Helen Prest Ajayi, Binta Sukai, Vien Tetsola, Sylva Edem, Ene Lawani and Damilola Agbajor into household names.
Now in its 38th year, African Telecommunications Network has brought this epitome of African culture and tradition. 

The contestants will not only carry a worthy title but will also serve our great nation by becoming ambassadors and positive role models to Nigerian women and Nigerians in the Diaspora.

  


At the end of the casting tour, 36 contestants will be selected to part-take in the two-week reality TV show 'THE MAKING OF A QUEEN", in which eliminations will take place leaving 21 ladies to compete for one crown at the Grand finale.
Our ultimate goal is to choose a queen based on elegance, poise, talent, intelligence and beauty.
LAGOS AUDITIONS

CRITERIA:
- All participants must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years old.

- All participants must be Nigerian citizens.

- -Participants must not be married, must not be mothers or pregnant.
-Participants must be of good health & moral character.
- Participants must speak fluent English.

To be considered for the 38th annual Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant, you must complete the application form below in detail and bring to the casting venues. The FINAL deadline for application is march 2013.
Download the form, print it out, fill it and bring to the casting venue together with the other documents mentioned above.
INTERNATIONAL applicants can also apply from outside Nigeria by submitting a YouTube video. (Please note International Applicant must be of Nigerian Citizen by birth).

BBD Concert – Burna Boy

1. Burna Boy- This native of Port-Harcourt is a sound rebel. After bubbling underground in 2011, Burna Boy swam to the mainstream with his highly infectious single ‘Like To Party’. Falling on stage at the Headies and being a part of the Hennessey Artistry gig ensured that he remained relevant. His follow up singles ‘Tonight; and ‘Run My Race’ haven’t done badly either. 2013 is a promising year for him if he can keep up with the momentum

FAB NIGHT OUT 2012 – Ajebutter 22

2.  Ajebutter 22- The rapper/singer hybrid initially started as one-half of the pop group, Soyinka’s Afro. Still a part of the group he scored a solo hit with ‘Senrere’ in 2012. Towards the end of the year he released his second single ‘Omo Pastor’ featuring BOJ. Ajebutter 22 scored another hit and his name started popping up in the new school category. Waxing strong, he is scheduled to drop a mixtape sometime this year.

L.O.S

3.  L.O.S- Made up of four young guys- Tomi Thomas, Bad Bridge, Bad Bridge and Yung Kwft, L.O.S has quietly made a name for itself with its new school pop sound and viral videos. Initially not much attention was paid to the group until they dropped ‘Bad Guy P’. The success of that ultra cool single enabled them sell their brand and tour with Hennessey Artistry, Spinlet and Samsung. The remix to ‘Bad Guy P’ featuring Banky W and Sarkodie isn’t bad either. 2013 will be a year of consolidation for the group

DRB LASGIDI

 4. DRB Lasgidi- DRB Lasgidi is similar to L.O.S and as a matter of fact most people mix the groups up. DRB Lasgidi is made up of 2 rappers- Fresh L and Tee Zee plus a singer BOJ. They haven’t had a breakout hit but with a steady influx of materials online they are quickly gathering a cult like status among their target audience. Their newest single ‘Selecta’ featuring Shank should see them break into the mainstream very soon.

Jesse Jagz performs new single on Nigerian Idol

 

 

If you missed Nigerian Idol show this past Saturday and Sunday, you missed two utterly engaging shows. Not only was the comeback queen with nine lives, aka Safeeyat, saved by the judges, the contestants gave the performances of their lives, and, Jesse Jagz was in the building.

It was an off-the-charts weekend for the show, and though the elimination night was definitely a shocker with Safeeyat ousted in a shocking elimination, she was saved by Jeffrey Daniel, Yivies and Femi Kuti, using up the one lifeline of the competition.

On Sunday, the best performances of the show yet occurred, including Abasiakan’s stunning take on ‘Invincible’ by Lemar, Debbie Rise’s sizzling performance of Tiwa Savage’s ‘Kele Kele Love’ and Moses’ jaw-dropping performance of ‘Peace’ by Asa.

After staging a spectacular Festival of Love Valentine show in Abuja, one of Nigeria’s top comedians Julius Agwu will be live in Port Harcourt for another edition of Laff 4 Christ’s Sake.

The event which is billed to take place at the Aztech Arcum, will kick off at 6 PM and feature musical performances by Frank Edwards, Tim Godfrey and the Extreme Crew, Afi Douglas and Freke Umoh as well as comic performances by MC Abbey, Owen Gee, Dan D’Humorous, Senator and Buchi.

WIZKID BUYS DA MALL

Talk about “buying out the mall Star Boy style”…

Wizkid is back in the news today for his trip out in South Africa but in this case, it’s not because he’s making money from events and club appearances; it’s because of how he’s spending it.

I think we’ve learnt by now that Wizkid is not afraid to ‘ball’! In his most recent interview with OK! Nigeria TV in London, the star boy was asked to empty his pockets and he had huge wads of cash and credit cards.

Still in South Africa, Wizkid uploaded this next photo a few moments ago on his Instagram, with the caption: “Boring afternoon! So I went to the mall..#SouthAfrica!”

Former IGP, Hafiz Ringim seeks asylum in the UK

former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Hafiz Ringim, is allegedly seeking asylum in the United Kingdom, as reports say, he has an application before the UK Border Agency.
Dailypost learnt that not long after his sack on January 25, 2012, Ringim traveled to the UK and has not returned ever since.
Sources say his request is on the grounds that the dreaded islamic sect, Boko Haram, may target his life once he returns to Nigeria.
The former Police boss in his application informed UK officials that he narrowly escaped death inJune 2011, when the Force Headquarters in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja was bombed, few days after he threatened to crush the terrorist group.
Ringim told the British agency that on June 6, 2011, his Deputy, Abubakar Ningi was murdered alongside the police orderly and a driver, an incident claimed by the Boko Haram sect.
He also referred to the killings of the former military chiefs, including the November 2012 murder of a civil war veteran, General Mamman Shuwa.
It would be recalled that it was under Ringim’s tenure, that the United Nations’ office in Abuja was bombed. 25 people lost their lives, while several others were injured.
The UK government is yet to send a reply to the inquiry made on the matter.
